\nSummary<\/b>: Hokuto likes this part so much, he doesn’t see what the rush is all about.
\nAN<\/b>: some Hokuto\/Taiga for no reason, other than they’re so cute together on the Bakaleya backstage stuff. Well, maybe some other reasons. <\/p>\n
Slow and Steady<\/b><\/p>\n
This stage is so awkward, so full of uncertainty. You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d think confessing their feelings things would make everything more straightforward, but in reality it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the opposite. Neither one of them has any idea what to do now when their eyes meet, when their hands brush, when they catch glimpses of each other half-changed or still damp from the shower. <\/p>\n
Hokuto is loving every second of it. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re so cute when you do that,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he murmurs just low enough for only Taiga to hear. He wants to reach up and brush fingers over the blush staining Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pink cheeks, but he doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite dare do it, doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know if that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay yet. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga protests, reaching up to rub at his cheeks, pursing his lips when that only makes it worse and Hokuto won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t stop looking. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ugh, why don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you blush too?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto shrugs with a smile. He almost suggests that Taiga try and make him blush, he has the words right on the tip of his tongue, but then he swallows them. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s too soon for him to say stuff like that, right? <\/p>\n
It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only been a few days, after all. They haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even kissed yet. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why not?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Juri wants to know when he asks how it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going with a dirty leer that is all from his older brother. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hurry up already, you only see each other like twenty-two hours a day, what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the hold up?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the rush?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto wants to know, fussing with the drape of his uniform and watching over his mirror reflection to make sure Jesse and Kouchi are too far away to overhear as they shove at each other. He doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re keeping it a particular secret? But he hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t asked Taiga about that yet, asked who it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay to tell for now, or if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s even a thing worth telling people about yet. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The whole point of all the dumb talking and feelings at the beginning is so that you get to the good stuff!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Juri protests. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The making out and touching and sneaking into each other\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s showers!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never done any of those things with anybody,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto scoffs, making Juri scowl. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Talk a little more out your ass, why don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you. Besides, I like this part, I want to enjoy it a little. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all this anticipation, you know? I can make him blush just by looking at him, and when he just touches my arm, goosebumps run all up it. It won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t stay like that forever.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You are a complete girl,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Juri announces. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be sorry if you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take advantage of all this filming time, and then you barely see each other when you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re doing different shit next season.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Juri does have a point there, Hokuto is forced to admit. Not like they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t see each other often enough for work, but filming a drama together is a little different, a little more charged with pressure and nearness. He likes the way his heart pounds when Taiga marches up to him with purpose and drags him off to a corner, a little way away from the others. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hey,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga says, eyes glued to Hokuto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s shoulder. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You like me, right?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yeah,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto answers, grin spreading across his face. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s every bit as stupid as the grin he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d been wearing when Taiga had confessed in the first place. It might even be stupider because he likes talking about how they like each other; the excitement of that hasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t worn off much yet, any reminder enough to send his heart skipping again. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yeah, I really do.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Then why haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you tried to kiss me yet?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga wants to know. He manages to lift his eyes to meet Hokuto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s for about two seconds, then they drop again. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you want to?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What? Of course I do,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto rushes to assure. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been thinking about it a lot, all the places on set they could sneak an opportunity, or at the train station on the way home, or a bunch of other places. It makes something squirm in his chest when he thinks about it for more than a second or two, something warm and good. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Then why…\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga trails off. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sorry.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto slips his hand into Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, squeezing it. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t mean to make you worry. I just wanted to enjoy it a little bit.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Taiga frowns. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Enjoy what?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto reaches up with his other hand to brush knuckles over Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cheek, heart speeding when Taiga blushes as if on command. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Right now, everything just feels so…damn, that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s so cute I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t even think straight.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Stop that,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga says, some whine in his voice, but he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smiling a little too. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153But the next part will be even better, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you think?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I could kiss you in front of all these people if you wanted,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto offers, and Taiga startles like he had totally forgotten they were on set where anybody could see if they glanced over. He gives Hokuto a narrow-eyed look and steps back far enough that his hand pulls free. Hokuto just chuckles. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think so.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sorry,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga says quickly, looking flustered at how quickly he pulled away. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t mean–\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Relax, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fine,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto says, easy-going as ever. Maybe the fact that he can read all of Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s thoughts so easily from his face is what makes it so easy for him to enjoy the waiting, to not be so anxious to rush through it. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t make you wait forever. Trust me?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Okay,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Taiga says softly. He gives Hokuto a small smile, hopeful and sweet, and Hokuto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s whole heart about flips over. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153But hurry up, okay?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Quick as a wink, Taiga steps forward to brush a kiss over Hokuto\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cheek, and then he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s gone, strolling back over to tease Shintarou along with Juri and Jesse like nothing happened. <\/p>\n
Hokuto watches his retreating back with the stupidest grin of all spreading over his face, cheek burning right where Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s lips touched. He can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t keep from imagining what those lips will feel like pressed against his own, maybe eventually pressed against other places…<\/p>\n
Well, Hokuto thinks to himself as he puts his hands in his pockets and heads over to join the others, maybe speeding things up a little wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t hurt. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Your face is really red, man,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Shintarou comments, looking Hokuto over dubiously. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t coming down with something, are you?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153More like going down on something,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Juri snickers under his breath, then gives an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Eep!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d when Hokuto grabs him in a headlock and roughs up his hair. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Must be something going around,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Hokuto says, catching Taiga\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eye. Taiga glances right and left to make sure nobody is paying attention, and then gives Hokuto a little wink, just for him. Hokuto grins back, wondering if Juri can hear how loud his heart is pounding over his whining and struggling. <\/p>\n
Maybe this stage won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t last forever, or even past this afternoon, but Hokuto plans to enjoy it while he can. And he has it on good authority that the next thing after that might be even better. <\/p>\n
Especially if it involves scandalizing the other members of their little unit in the adjacent shower stalls.<\/p>\n
