Truth in Flood Advertising<\/b><\/p>\n
\u201cYou won\u2019t get mad at me if you can\u2019t walk tomorrow, right?\u201d Sora teased. <\/p>\n
\u201cSounds like something good is going on in here,\u201d Lea said, sticking his head in the door. His leer turned into an eyeroll when all he found was Sora and Riku in Merlin\u2019s spare practice room, both of their clothes turned the bright blue of Wisdom Form. \u201cOnly you two can say junk like that and it\u2019s completely innocent.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cStuff like what?\u201d Sora asked. Riku shot Lea a warning glare over Sora\u2019s head. <\/p>\n
\u201cRiku can explain it to you later,\u201d Lea said breezily, not at all threatened by Riku. Especially not a Riku wobbling on magical rollerblades, being pulled along by Sora. \u201cWhat\u2019s the matter, Master Riku, Wisdom Form too much for you?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGet bent,\u201d Riku muttered, trying to keep his eyes on his feet and scowl at Lea at the same time. \u201cYour Wisdom Form is probably a unicycle.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would still look cooler than whatever you\u2019re doing,\u201d Lea retorted, crossing his arms. <\/p>\n
\u201cIgnore him,\u201d Sora instructed, unbothered by Lea\u2019s teasing. \u201cAnd stop looking at your feet! Just relax, you used to rollerskate all the time when we were kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI used to be like a meter closer to the ground,\u201d Riku grumbled. He fumbled a step when Sora slipped his hands out of Riku\u2019s grip. \u201cSora!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou got it, come on,\u201d Sora encouraged, gliding backwards on his own and gesturing for Riku to follow him. Riku skated a few paces forward, scowling when Sora kept out of reach easily. \u201cSlowpoke! Master Yen Sid in his big old wizard dress could do better than that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThanks for that mental image,\u201d Lea said, cringing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll show you!\u201d Riku insisted, kicking off harder to catch up with Sora. For a minute speed evened out his balance, and it seemed like Riku had the hang of it as he chased after a whooping Sora who was still skating backwards just to be a jerk. But then Riku made a sudden grab for Sora\u2019s arm and overbalanced himself, falling forwards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhoops!\u201d Sora exclaimed. He caught Riku with a lucky grab, but Riku\u2019s momentum tipped him forward so that it looked like Sora was dipping him in the middle of a dance move. <\/p>\n
\u201cRomantic,\u201d Lea commented. <\/p>\n
\u201cWh-what?\u201d Sora demanded, startled. His grip slipped, and Riku crashed to the floor. \u201cOops!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo no, I\u2019m fine,\u201d Riku wheezed from the ground, his form change flickering out. To add insult to injury, a Flood the size of a large cat appeared on his chest, the sudden weight of it making Riku grunt. It was teal-colored and rounded, a little poofy. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat, and I say this with all due respect, the fuck is THAT?\u201d Lea demanded. <\/p>\n
\u201cHuh?\u201d Sora scooped the Flood up by the armpits and held it up like a large cat. \u201cIt\u2019s just a Flood. My heart\u2019s still healing so they pop out sometimes\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIs not,\u201d Lea said, frowning and poking the Flood\u2019s forehead dubiously. It gave an indignant kreee in response. \u201cFloods are the sharp purple friends Ven leaves lying around. This thing\u2019s all squishy!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s different kinds for different emotions,\u201d Sora said, stepping back as Riku struggled to his feet. \u201cLike pink for embarrassed or yellow for anxiety. You never saw a good one before?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFor some value of good,\u201d Riku said, less casual about the Floods, even though this one didn\u2019t seem interested in causing any trouble. Sora stuck his tongue out and the Flood yowled again, little back feet kicking. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll bite,\u201d Lea said. \u201cWhat emotion is that one?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI dunno,\u201d Sora shrugged. He scooped the Flood up more comfortably with one hand to cuddle against his chest like a huge rabbit. \u201cThis one happens a lot when I\u2019m with Riku, but we haven\u2019t figured it out yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou haven\u2019t, huh?\u201d Lea\u2019s sharp grin returned. Riku shot him a dirty look. \u201cNo idea at all? Bet you haven\u2019t asked him. Hey, little buddy, wanna tell us what you\u2019re for?\u201d<\/p>\n
The Flood, perfectly content being cuddled by Sora and the exact same color as Riku\u2019s eyes, made what was unmistakably a kissy face.<\/p>\n
\u201cSee?\u201d Sora asked, unable to see what the Flood was doing from his perspective. \u201cIt\u2019s a mystery.\u201d Riku buried his face in his hands and Lea whooped with laughter. \u201cWhat\u2019s got into you two?\u201d<\/p>\n
