Everybody Knows Iron Moogle<\/b><\/p>\n
\u201cSo much for that shirt,\u201d Lea said, inspecting the shredded remains of his sleeve. Kairi\u2019s fireball had scorched several inches off, leaving behind a ragged, smoking edge. \u201cIsn\u2019t this fairy stuff supposed to be magic proof?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI guess once fire magic leaves your keyblade, it\u2019s just\u2026regular fire?\u201d Kairi rubbed her arm across her forehead, where the sweat was dripping in her eyes. \u201cSorry!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo worries, it\u2019s just a shirt.\u201d Lea rolled his shoulders, stretching. \u201cAlthough last I heard the good fairies are a little backed up on their commissions so maybe take it easy, huh princess? A few more fire spells like that and you might be looking at some of my bare assets, if you know what I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLea!\u201d Kairi laughed, punching him in the shoulder. \u201cGross! Maybe if your training gear wasn\u2019t hand-me-down T-shirts from Cid and Leon of bands nobody\u2019s ever heard of.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBlasphemy!\u201d Lea stretched the bottom of his T-shirt out with one hand and pointed indignantly at the logo with the other. \u201cEverybody knows Iron Moogle! You kids have no taste, I swear, it\u2019s all auto-tune and Margoyle\u2019s Generation and mood playlists on Popcatify\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAside from Lea\u2019s questionable musical taste,\u201d Aqua interrupted, appearing at the top of the steps. \u201cThe real problem is both of your training gear.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHow dare!\u201d Lea gasped, planting his hands on his hips. \u201cOk, these sweatpants have seen some things.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is good enough for Blitzball,\u201d Kairi said, looking down at her own cropped track pants and jacket, both worn blue with a faded Destiny Islands logo down the leg. \u201cAnd Lea is hardly a legendary midfielder.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBuddy, I\u2019ve played fields\u2014\u201c<\/p>\n
\u201cYour magic-resistance stats should be two or three times what they are,\u201d Aqua said, walking up beside them. She flicked Lea\u2019s shoulder. \u201cIf three times zero weren\u2019t still zero. More than that, everything both of you are wearing is too loose. It\u2019s no wonder things keep catching fire when all that fabric is flapping around.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAre we getting lectured by Aqua about flappy fabric?\u201d Kairi muttered to Lea in an undertone. Aqua raised an eyebrow; Lea pointed accusingly at Kairi, face innocent. <\/p>\n
\u201cYes, you are, and when you\u2019re a tested Master you can wear all the vintage Moogle Metal T-shirts and Blitzball paraphernalia that you want,\u201d Aqua said crisply. \u201cBut while training, you need clothing that is form-fitting, durable, and -5 flammable.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is flammable if you try hard enough,\u201d Lea replied. <\/p>\n
\u201cAi-ya, every day Master Yen Sid\u2019s resting wizard face becomes more relatable,\u201d Aqua muttered, rolling her eyes. \u201cWhy do you think Terra, Ven, and I all have the straps?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause you designed your own costumes when you were fifteen,\u201d Kairi answered. <\/p>\n
\u201cOoh, the self-burn! Those are rare,\u201d Lea chimed in. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think what I like most about you two is your complete lack of self-preservation.\u201d Aqua turned and started back towards the main gate, not looking back to see whether Kairi or Lea was following her. \u201cGet your rears in gear. We\u2019ll see if we can find something suitable.\u201d<\/p>\n
