One<\/b><\/p>\n
On the first try, Sanada doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t actually get any words out, so Fukka tries to claim it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t count. But Sanada punches him in the arm and says that it totally does, because Fukka isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t letting him count the fifteen minutes before that when Sanada stood in the hallway and hyperventilated while Abe and Miyadate cheered him on with impromptu uchiwa made out of straws and post-it notes. <\/p>\n
Once Sanada gets inside the break room, where Nozawa is slumped in a curl playing his DS, his heart rate triples, and his palms are damp no matter how much he tries to wipe them off on his sweatpants. Sanada opens his mouth, but nothing comes out, not even a squeak. <\/p>\n
He lurks there, behind the arm of the couch, opening and closing his mouth while Nozawa goes on tapping at his DS, blissfully unaware. Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s heart goes on pounding louder and louder, until finally he can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t take it any more and dashes back out the way he came. <\/p>\n
Nozawa looks up at the slam of the door and frowns when he doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t see anybody, thinking that maybe the story Jyuri said Koki-kun told him about the spirit of an un-debuted junior still roaming the halls in search of a unit isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t completely insane. <\/p>\n
Two<\/b><\/p>\n
On the second try, Sanada at least makes some noises. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Did you just honk?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa wants to know, looking up from his stretch on the floor. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153N-no!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada says quickly. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I, um, that was a sneeze.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa raises an eyebrow and Sanada sniffs hopefully. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Well, bless you, then,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa shrugs, going back to his stretch. <\/p>\n
Get ahold of yourself!<\/i> Sanada tells himself. He clenches his hands into fists and shakes himself, telling himself that he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s being ridiculous, that it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just Nozawa, and this is exactly the same as the other five hundred and thirty-seven times he asked Nozawa to hang out.<\/p>\n
Maybe it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a little different, since those times were all before Watanabe let it slip that Nozawa mumbled Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s name during a nap, but still, Sanada tells himself, he can do it! Be a man! Just open your mouth and\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Maybe you should go to the medical station,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa comments, and Sanada slinks away in shame. <\/p>\n
Three<\/b><\/p>\n
Iwamoto suggests giving Nozawa a gift might break the ice, and Sanada thinks that the idea would be genius, if he weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t at practice with nothing but an extra sweatshirt and 357 yen in change in his bag. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not a girl, you moron,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Onodera rolls his eyes. Sanada thinks that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pretty rich coming from a kid who was busy primping his new bleached hair in the mirrored wall. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not like he wants Swiss chocolates or jewelry. Buy him a drink at the vending machine.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

Or at least it would be if the machine didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t promptly eat 200 of Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s yen. Sanada loiters in front of the machine, giving it mournful looks and wondering if Nozawa might be impressed with a 250 mL bottle of water, if he were really really thirsty. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hey!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa says from behind Sanada, making him nearly jump out of his skin. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s wrong, not enough change? Here, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll lend you some.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada starts, but Nozawa is already dropping in coins and hitting buttons, and then he hands Sanada a can of his favorite flavor of Fanta with a cheerful grin. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Just pay me back tomorrow, okay?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa slaps Sanada on the shoulder and saunters off, and Sanada heaves a sigh before drowning his sorrows in melon Fanta. <\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You can practice on me!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Miyadate offers cheerfully. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Go ahead, ask me out!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s go out,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada says dully. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t sound very excited,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Miyadate pouts, pretending to flip his hair. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You have to make it convincing, Sana-chan!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t cute enough,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada scowls, then blushes furiously when Miyadate cracks up and pokes Sanada in the cheek. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Cuter than Yuuki?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Miyadate laughs harder, and Sanada blushes more fiercely. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nobody is, ne, since he learned to pout. But let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s try Shota, he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s almost as cute!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Before Sanada can respond, Miyadate is already rushing out of the room. Sanada loiters around for a few minutes, and sure enough Miyadate returns, shoving a protesting Watanabe inside in front of him and telling Sanada to try now. <\/p>\n
Sanada just stands there, mouth dangling a little, because Watanabe is inexplicably wearing a plaid skirt and a wig. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ne, Sana-chan,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Watanabe says after a second of silence, and he twirls one of the wig\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ringlets around his finger, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t I cute enough for you either?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Even if Sanada had an answer for that, which he doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t, he doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get a chance to give it, because just then the door swings open again, and Nozawa leans his head in to say that they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re supposed to be at practice in two minutes.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6unless I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m interrupting,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he finishes after the whole scene sinks in, Watanabe in a skirt and wig being shoved towards Sanada by Miyadate. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153No!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada splutters. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t! This isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t what it looks like!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You guys aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t practicing for Koyama-kun\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s new game?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa inquires. Miyadate frowns and Watanabe opens his mouth, but Sanada slaps a hand over it. <\/p>\n

Sanada was kind of hoping the familiarity of practicing their next duet together would make everything easier, or at least let him meet Nozawa\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eyes. But really, after watching Nozawa twist and swivel his way through the steps, legs going on for miles, Sanada not only can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t meet Nozawa\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eyes, he can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t breathe either. <\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going on with you?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa wants to know when Sanada has to take a break, chest heaving. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re breathing heavier than an AV actor. Are you letting the senpai give you cigarettes out back again?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Of course not!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada snaps. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I just\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6uh\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s retort dies away as soon as he looks up and finds Nozawa looming over him, hair damp and frowning in concern. Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cheeks go hot again, and he jerks his gaze back to the floor. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s nothing.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good, then let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s go again.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa reaches down to grab Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s wrists and yanked him back up to his feet. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Only try it without the heavy breathing this time.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Sanada tries to follow Nozawa\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s directions, but when Nozawa grabs him by the hips and shows him exactly how he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s doing the hiproll wrong, Sanada realizes it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all a lost cause. <\/p>\n
And One Time Nozawa Asked Him<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Wanna get something to eat?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa asks as he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s toweling his hair off after his shower. <\/p>\n
Sanada, slumped on the bench and not even out of his practice clothes yet, thinks about refusing on principle for about a hundredth of a second before mumbling, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yeah.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll treat, since you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been weird all day,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa adds. <\/p>\n
Despite all the disasters, Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s chest still warms. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You noticed?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Of course I did, idiot.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa rolls his eyes. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Now hurry up and get changed, or you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re gonna miss our first date.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Sanada jerks his head up to stare at Nozawa with wide eyes, and Nozawa just gives a smug chuckle before leaning down to press his mouth to Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s.<\/p>\n
