Other gym members drifted over to watch as Nozawa and Fujigaya got ready, Sanada glancing nervously at the sea of gold and fake fur he was surrounded by in between cheering for Nozawa.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Watta!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the orange lizard gave its battle cry as it hopped out of its ball, flame-tipped tail swishing.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Aww, how cute,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa cooed, making Fujigaya\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s expression darken. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Go, Iwamotodile!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll show you cute,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fujigaya snarled. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Watarmander, Firebeat attack, go!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Look out!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada cried as the Watarmander started tossing its head, but Nozawa was unfazed.<\/p>\n

Iwamotodile braced itself and launched a flawless No More Wave attack, and with its water-type advantage over Watarmander\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fire-type attack, it really wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t much of a competition even after the Watarmander switched over to its ground-type Day Breaker attack.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Watarmander, return!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fujigaya called, but he looked no less confident. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Let\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s see how you like this, then. Go, Tamacargo!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Burn It Up, Tamacargo!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fujigaya called without giving the Onodeen a chance to get its bearings. It barely hopped out of the way in time with a high-pitched, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Deen!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What kind of attack is \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcVanilla?\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada wanted to know, then yelped himself as a stray fireball nearly grazed his foot.<\/p>\n
But still the result was much the same, and Fujigaya was scowling as he called back his Tamacargo.<\/p>\n

There was a long moment of silence as everyone stared at the fish pokemon, broken only by the Miyakarp\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s steady \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Karp! Karp! Karp!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Well,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a gym member behind Sanada sighed, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153At least it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not as useless as the Bunichiduck.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Is it going to attack?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada asked, tilting his head in confusion, while Onodeen tilted its head in the other direction.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s attacking right now,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa said with a grin. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The only attack a Miyakarp can learn is Smile! Onodeen, finish it off! Tri Torn attack!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the one taking a nap,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fujigaya shrugged, then sauntered off, still looking sulky. Sanada and Nozawa exchanged a look, then Nozawa shrugged, and they went over to wake the gym leader from his slumber.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ne, ne,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada hissed to Nozawa as several gym members tried to rouse their boss without incurring his wrath. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Let me battle Gym Leader Kitayama!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa dropped Poliwatanabe\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s pokeball back into Sanada\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hand with a raised eyebrow. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sana-chan, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re my rival and all, but you kind of suck, you know?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153But this is easy!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada insisted. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153They really like fire-types, right? I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be great, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll see! Besides, you always get to have all the fun, and I need to get badges too, right?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Okay,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa gave in with a sigh, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153knock yourself out.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Gym Leader Kitayama still looked a bit heavy-eyed when he approached to face off with Sanada, but his smirk was sharp and the way he handled his pokeballs was impressive to say the least.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I play winner,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Nozawa commented mildly from the sidelines.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You know how to team battle, right?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Kitayama asked Sanada, voice bored.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Team battle?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada blinked. Kitayama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smirk increased.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153My pokemon battle in pairs,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Kitayama explained. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153As their bond grows, so does their power!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153No big deal!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada announced. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153That just means I can beat you twice as fast!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He frowned when Kitayama laughed out loud.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t worry, you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll get it by the time we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve finished with you,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Kitayama assured. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nikachu and Sengar, go!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Kitayama tossed two pokeballs with a flick of his wrist, and there were two bright flashes of light. The first, a Sengar, hopped out ready to battle with ghostly tendrils on its head sticking up in all directions. He was, unfortunately, facing Kitayama, but Kitayama just gave an indulgent \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcTcht\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and pointed towards the battlefield.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sen!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the Sengar squeaked, then hopped 180\u00c2\u00b0 and snarled at Sanada instead. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Gar!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
The second flash of light revealed a bright yellow Nikachu, fur crackling with electricity and zig-zag tail held up proudly. Sanada swallowed hard as the Nikachu eyed him beadily.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ni,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d the Nikachu said derisively, then plopped its butt down on the ground. The Sengar looked down at it, tilting its head in confusion and pointing at Sanada.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sen?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d it asked. The Nikachu just sniffed.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nikachu,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Kitayama warned, then growled when Nikachu only gave him a cheeky \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcChu!\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 over its shoulder. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Get ready to battle!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
The Nikachu just raised a hind foot and scratched itself casually.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153See?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Sanada called over to Nozawa with a grin. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Easy! This\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll take like a minute and a half! Abekadabra and Butterfukka, go!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
But his grin turned into a frown when the only pokemon that popped out was the twin-tailed Shintauros, and Nikachu and Sengar collapsed on the ground in fits of giggles.<\/p>\n
